Note: On trips involving travel in more than one zone, the entire fare is paid when boarding a bus traveling toward downtown Buffalo (inbound). On trips traveling away from downtown Buffalo (outbound), only the one zone fare is paid when boarding the bus and the remainder is paid when you reach your destination.

Metro Rail is entirely in Zone 1, making standard fare $1.75

Children four years and under ride free with fare paying adult passenger (limit of three children per fare paying adult).

** These fares are available at ticket vending machines, located in all Metro Rail stations, the Metropolitan Transportation Center in downtown Buffalo, the Portage Road Transportation Center and the Niagara Falls Transportation Center .

Vending Machines
Rail tickets and passes may be purchased from the vending machines at all stations. These machines accept Metro tokens, U.S. coins, $1, $5, or $10 bills, credit cards and debit cards.

Monthly Metro Passes

Metro Monthly Passes are valid for unlimited riding in one calendar month. Metro Passes are sold according to the zones in which they are valid. Regular boarding or zone changes will apply when a Metro Monthly Pass is presented in zones outside the zone for which the pass is valid. There are four zones in the Metro System. Every monthly Metro Pass comes with an Emergency Ride Home Guarantee.

Tokens

Holiday Schedule

Saturday schedules are operated on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Sunday/holiday schedules are operated on New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
